Enough is enough
Enough is enough
Written for: Netta Barzilai, Bar Refaeli, Noa Kirel, Kim Kardashian.
Enough is enough here’s a news flash for you I don’t care if it’s tough,
My buddy is my own enough is enough.
When you look at me you see only body you don’t see the soul,
You say you do but in fact you don’t care at all
I can be successful I can be a brilliant entrepreneur but when I’ll gain a pound your eyes will become wider.
So here’s a lesson from me to you, a universal fact no one can undo :
Human body is flexible, human body absorbs time, human body changes constantly and most of all my buddy is mine.
When I’m fat i’m confident, when I’m thin I’m radiant, when I have a healthy image i’m glorious and when my body is mine to control no one will hurt my soul.
“When I was at a “healthy weight” you said I look healthy but my legs are fat
When I started practice dance routine and became skinner you said I look like a naked scarecrow in the winter.
I do what I do cuz I like it and wants to, I don’t live to satisfy you.”
“You said I’m fat and it sad cuz I got a massive talent
Well it takes a big body to have big performance that’s exactly what makes me so brilliantly flawless.”
“All my life I’ve Been told “you’re too skinny too tall even a supermodel needs some food control”
Who are you people to judge me like that?
I definitely did not put you in this position.
My body is my strength, my profession, this is the gift I was born with and I don’t owe you any explanation.”
“Your obsession with me is your obsession with my body
Yes it’s a temple that needs lots of hard work and money
The decisions I make for my body are my own and here is a life lesson from me to you, a truth I hope you might have known:
If something doesn’t fit you create it on your own, you and you alone knows how you want your body to be shown.”
When I’m fat i’m confident, when I’m thin I’m radiant, when I have a healthy image i’m glorious and when my body is mine to control no one will hurt my soul.
Behind the song
Just Like Love, body image and shape is a topic we as a society will always talk about so naturally I wrote a song about it.
If I’m not mistaken I believe it all started when Noa kirrel (the queen of talent, the walls breaker, the mega performance maker and humbility princess) started to work on her amazing flawless eurovision “unicorn” performance. Suddenly people saw a change in her body, the fact that she became ” super skinny” (not my words) after a lot of years she had what people called “a healthy image”.
I remembered thinking that it will never be enough, that people will never be satisfied and thank god (and mostly her family) that Noa have the character she have that helps her cope with this new body obsession situation.
I also remember that an opposite thing happened with another mega talent that is Netta barzily. I’ll cut it short and write down the one comment I remember most: ” it’s great that she is a confident woman but don’t encourage this obese body image because it’s not healthy”. I imagined that one day if she will decide to make a change (and she did) people will talk about her body again. Since I’m a woman obviously I was (and still very am) right.
It (what is “it” anyway) will never be enough, we will always be obsessed about ours and not ours body image.
So first I thought about Noa kirrel and Netta barzily but even before I started writing this song I felt like something is missing, like this phenomena is bigger than this tow and naturally I immediately thought about Bar Refaeli and that one time i’ve heard someone saying that she feels sorry for her (for Bar) that she can’t even pick up her kids from kindergarten because she’s so famous and people will disturb her when she will pick up her kids. Obviously what I just quoted have no connection to this song but that was the moment I realized Bar Refaeli is a part of this song. She was given a gift and she’s using it wisely, no one has the right to complain about it, that’s my opinion.
As for the glorious and bright Kim Kardashian, well? Need I explain?
Since I thought about these four women personally I wrote a verse that fits to each and every one of them, however I have decided not to frame the song at all. Those women are the artists and performers of this song and thay and thay alone will decide their role in it (you see what I did there, right? wink wink).
The video clip: I imagine the song and the video clip very much like “moulin Rouge” video clip vibe.
